Seaweed Shampoo + Conditioner: My Results

Today we are talking about shampoo and conditioner. I was looking for a new shampoo and came across a seaweed shampoo. Hearing all the good things about seaweed when it comes to health- like minerals and vitamins- I figured it would probably be pretty good for my hair..right?

If you want to hang out with me and see how the shampoo and conditioner foam up, check out my video review below. Or continue reading to see more about it and what I think.

The seaweed shampoo and conditioner that I found on Amazon is made by The Seaweed Bath Co. The product page states that the organic and sustainably harvested bladderwrack seaweed contains more than 65 vitamins and minerals. Ok- I can get behind that.

Then I learned they had more than one scent and each scent has different benefits- volumizing, balancing, hydrating, etc. All of the shampoos contained bladderwrack seaweed, Argan Oil, Aloe Vera and essential oils.

All of their shampoos and conditioners are vegan and free of:

  • SLS
  • Parabens
  • dyes
  • Gluten
  • Animal Testing (Cruelty Free)

I got the Eucalyptus and Peppermint scent because I find that the minty feeling really helps my scalp feel clean and reduces the itchiness that I get. I’m honestly not sure if I have dandruff or just an oily scalp, but recently dandruff shampoos had stopped working to reduce the itching.

But I seem to have stumbled across a solution for this too: a scalp massager- specifically this one that I use when I wash my hair. I friggin love this thing. It not only saves my fingers from getting a workout, but also my nail polish.

The First Wash with Seaweed Shampoo

Ok- now onto the good stuff.

The first time I used the shampoo + conditioner, my hair felt DISGUSTING. Like someone had just poured oil on my head and stripped everything out of my hair.

When I got out of the shower, I used this paddle brush to dry my hair and my hands were greasy by the time I was done- FROM TOUCHING MY HAIR!

This was almost a no go for me… until I realized that this was an all natural shampoo and I was previously using Dove Men 2 in 1 (cause it was minty!). So there was a bunch of shit built up o my hair to make it smooth that the shampoo was trying to remove.

So I toughed it out and within a few days, viola! my hair was softer and shinier than it was before. And no more greasy hands.

Now for the Before + After

Honestly- I will definitely be splurging a bit on this shampoo in the future. It’s a high quality product that if you can get past the first few washes leaves your hair feeling even better than it did before.

And I have gotten so many more compliments on my hair from co-workers too! My hair looks healthier even though it seems to be just as shiny.
